Road trips + Tattoos— Celebrating three years of marriage

This year we decided to celebrate our anniversary a little later due to family being in town for thanksgiving and our friend (who is our tattoo artist) being booked out until early December.

We left on a Thursday and were on Reno until Sunday.

This was our first time booking a room with Air Bnb! I highly recommend this over a hotel. It is super private, cozy, and not sterile. It was nice not having to pass through a hotel lobby and physically check in and check out.

Upon arriving to our Air Bnb… PRIORITIES

Our room was on California Avenue which is really close to downtown. It was easy to get to and from where we wanted to go. The room has a lot of character since it is in an old home! We loved the arched doorways and older feel.

There was plenty of space in this room as you can tell! The owners were super sweet and accommodating they left some free refreshments for us as well as toiletries. We didn’t use any of the toiletries since we use all Young Living products but we really appreciated the gesture. Oh yeah and the natural lighting was perfect!

On our first full day in Reno we went out for breakfast and had some delicious and super filling fooooood. I definitely had some DiGize afterwards! Haha. We spent the rest of the day exploring Reno. We did lots of walking and then some driving! We checked out the Patagonia outlet downtown and did lots of site seeing.

I married him! 😍

Reno is so much different from the area in California that we are from. It was a lot slower which was a great change of pace. The weather was wonderful! It actually felt like winter. Max and I are all about the cold weather. (My dream is to move to Oregon in the future.) Friday night we had pizza at a new pizza place called Rick’s. The owner is from a city that is super close to where we live and his bartender is also from California which was pretty cool. They were super hospitable and the pizza was delicious. I of course left them a raving review on yelp. We will definitely visit again when we get our next tattoos.

Saturday we woke up and stopped at the coolest little coffee shop that I found on Yelp.

Old World Coffee
Yelp has not failed us yet!

Messy hair and no make up type of day. I had a vanilla lavender latte, Max had his usual Americano with no room, we had a scone to share! The scone was incredible and so were our drinks. 😋

Afterwards we headed to Reno Tattoo Co. to get tattooed by our friend Luke! It really hadn’t hit me that I was getting a tattoo until we opened up the door to the tattoo shop. 😳 haha.

This was my first tattoo in five years.

Me trying to distract myself by going on Snapchat. Haha. It was a lot more painful than I remembered, but SO worth it. The pain, like most was temporary.

My tattoo came out way better than I could have ever imagined. I am so pleased with the finished product. Hunny is what I call Max so it was only fitting that I get a honey jar to commemorate our third year of marriage.

I spy some YL products on the sink 😉
