Underarm Detox

Underarm detox— is your natural deodorant no longer working for ya? It’s probably because you need an underarm detox! Many who do this detox don’t even need to use deodorant afterwards. 🌿✨

2 Tbsps of Food Grade Bentonite Clay

1 Tsp of Filtered Water

1 Tsp of Organic Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar

3 drops of Young Living Melrose Essential Oil

DO NOT USE METAL WHEN WORKING WITH BENTONITE CLAY. IT DRAWS METALS AND TOXINS OUT!

Mix well and rub it into your underarms with your hands. Leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing. Do this for 3-4 days in a row. Store the remainder in a glass container and refrigerate. 😊Enjoy.

Natural Eyelash Growth Serum

The Scoop

Eyelashes play a big role in your daily get up. I have found that a good mascara and some lip balm can do wonders and change up your whole look from frumpy and tired to a bright eyed natural look.

I have always had fairly long lashes. However, regular use of mascara leaves many lash casualties at the end of me removing my make up and going through my cleansing routine. When I first got started with Young Living one of the first things that I started implementing into my beauty routine was adding lavender to my bottle of mascara. It helps with eyelash nourishment and growth.

Later, I saw an instagram friend (Sweetjamieleejoy) post about her oil infused eyelash serum. This girl has the most beautiful long natural lashes. My interest was immediately piqued. I asked her what the ingredients were and shortly after placed an order for the supplies that I needed (aside from the oils). Once I received my materials I got to work on creating ratios that worked for me. Trial and error of course. Initially the first batch that I created had way too many drops of essential oils because the scent was too strong for my eyes. Second time was a charm!

Supplies + Ingredients:

Young Living’s Cedarwood Essential Oil

Young Living’s Lavender Essential Oil

Young Living’s Rosemary Essential Oil

Empty Mascara Tubes

Castor Oil

*Disclaimer: I only recommend the use of the most pure and natural therapeutic essential oils (Young Living). I am not responsible for any damage created by or caused by use of adulterated essential oils. Oil purity is extremely important as FDA onlyrequires 5-10% of the actual oil in order for an oil to be labeled 100% pure therapeutic grade essential oil. When in fact the rest could be fillers, solvents, chemicals, or otherwise.

Sanitize the mascara tubes and other parts prior to use.

Add two drops of each essential oil to the mascara tube

Fill about ¾ of the tube with castor oil

Add rubber insert and seal with wand/lid

Apply nightly before bed

& ✨✨✨

Important Info

If at any point you get an essential oil in your eye, DO NOT FLUSH WITH WATER.

Water drives the oils, and will in turn intensify the discomfort.

Grab a carrier oil (jojoba oil, castor oil, olive oil, or coconut oil, etc.) and gently put some in your eye. Rest your eyes until discomfort is over.

I would love to see your before and afters!

Natural Hair Care

Back in the day I used to use things like Redkin, Biosilk, and OGX Moroccan Argan Oil. These are the types of products that most women use daily.

These things are filled with tons of chemicals the main offender often times being synthetic FRAGRANCE. I mention fragrance a lot because our sense of smell leads to a part of our brain called the limbic system. Anytime you are around a product that includes the ingredient(s) “fragrance”, “parfum”, or “perfume” you are breathing in loads of unidentified toxic chemicals. Companies are protected by trade laws and are not required to disclose the thousands of chemicals that they use to create certain scents. You not only breathe these scents in but they reach your brain.

I’m not writing these things to bash other companies, I do this for YOU, for my mom, my sister, my mother in law, all of the people that I love.

I am very passionate about educating people. I want to see less infirmities and more people living above the wellness line.

My vision for my Young Living business is to empower people to make educated decisions for themselves.

As with most of Young Living’s products the Mirah Shave Oil is multi-use. I began using it as a hair serum recently and it has worked wonders on my hair.

Personally I have very thick, course, wavy hair which equates to frizz. This product is not only great for the texture and overall health of my hair, it also smells heavenly.

I’m now able to brush my hair out when it’s wet without my hair turning into a tumbleweed.

Prior to using Mirah I was using jojoba oil. It was okay. After using Mirah as a serum I am never going back.

People also use Mirah as a facial moisturizer and of course as shave oil. I’m sure that there are many other uses for it.

You can purchase Mirah by clicking HERE

If you need help with your purchase you can email me at:

bobbiethemonteoils @ g m a i l.com (no spaces)

For added hair support and a good mid-week post shower pick me up I add a few drops of Lavender, Cedarwood, and Rosemary essential oils to a spray bottle and add water. I spray this on my hair and scalp throughout the week.

Here are some things to keep in mind when trying to figure out what to use as a heat protectant:

You always want to make sure that the smoke point (the point at which the oil begins to burn) is at minimum 350 degrees.

Unrefined oils carry the most nutrients when it comes to natural fatty oils. These nutrients will do wonders conditioning and protecting your hair.

Refined oils on the other hand will have a higher smoke point but will contain less nutrients than unrefined.

Almond Oil does well to those with thick coarse hair (like ME!!) It’s smoke point is 430 degrees. It contains the vitamins E, D, B1, B2, B6, and A.

Avocado Oil is obviously full of healthy fats! The smoke point of this oil is 520 degrees! It naturally contains properties similar to those of sunscreen so it will not only protect your hair from heat but also UVA and UVB rays.

Coconut Oil is probably the most popular oil at the moment. The smoke point of coconut oil is 350 degrees. Add this to the list of things that coconut oil is good for. In addition coconut oil is also anti-dandruff and promotes hair growth.

Grape seed oil has the high smoke point of 420 degrees which is ideal for those who like to use heat styling tools at high temperatures.

Jojoba Oil is one of my favorite oils. I use this for many things. The smoke point for this oil is 383 degrees. Although it is known as an oil, it’s actually a liquid plant wax and has had many uses throughout the years. Because Jojoba is an emollient, it soothes the skin and unclogs hair follicles. I like to add a bit to my hair right after it’s washed. Jojoba oil contains beneficial ingredients, including vitamin E, vitamin B complex, silicon, chromium, copper and zinc. It has a very high percentage of iodine at 82 percent, which gives jojoba oil its power to heal. It contains three fatty acids: erucic (13.6 percent), gadoleic (71.3 percent) and oleic (11.2 percent).

Shea Butter works great as a heat protectant because it naturally has thermal conductivity. Because of the its thermal conductivity it is a natural replacement for the use of silicones found and used in most heat protectants. Dimethicone and cyclomethicone are used most widely in silicones found in heat protectants. Silicone coats strands with a protective layer that is difficult for heat from a heated styling tool to penetrate.

Comment below and let me know what worked best for you!

Dust Bunnies

Your cute little dust bunnies are not as harmless as you thought.

Dust Bunnies accumulate in the corners of our homes, and can be among the most toxic potions of all.

As noted by the Environmental Working Group (EWG): Many chemicals end up in household dust.

In a study by Silent Spring Institute: they reported “A study of house dust collected in California homes in 2006 and in 2011 which found 41 different fire retardant chemicals in at least half of the samples

A later study (2012) by Silent Spring Institute tested for 49 flame retardant chemicals in household dust, the main route of exposure for people and especially in children.

Most homes had at least one chemical above a federal health guideline, compounds in household dust tests, included flame retardants, home-use pesticides and phthalates.

A 2002 study by the EWG detected phthalates in nearly ¾ of personal care products tested, when sprayed or applied as make up powder (that contain phthalates) the chemicals can become airborne and accumulate in your dust.

Young children in particular may ingest about 50 milligrams of household dust a day. (low levels can cause health issues) making it an important pathway by which people are exposed to environmental contaminants.

So it is probably no surprise that a simple wipe down with water is not enough when it comes to dusting. I would sometimes just wipe dust off of surfaces with my bare hand or a wet paper towel. (OOPS) Not so much anymore.

taaaa-daaaaa. T H I E V E S household cleaner. One ultra concentrated bottle has replaced every cleaner in our home (+ it’s lasted forever). Savings upon savings upon savings. The bottle costs $22 and it has the potential to yield 28 bottles of multipurpose cleaner, at around 79¢ per bottle. Thieves household cleaner is free of synthetics, is plant based, essential oil infused (with the well known Thieves blend), and safe to use around every member of the family. All you usually need is one cap full  diluted with water (unless you want the solution to be stronger, in which case you’d use more cleaner). The ratio is 1:30! We keep a couple of glass spray bottles full around the house, I take a 2oz spray bottle full to work, and we also create soft scrubs with baking soda (recipe coming soon). It is perfect for dusting and scrubbing, some also use it to spot clean stains.

You can purchase it by clicking HERE.

See ya dust bunnies.

NingXia Red

If you are the least bit involved in the Young Living community then I am sure you have heard at least one person rave about NingXia Red. Here is why…

via Ningxia Red: 4 Reasons it is the BOMB!! — Doctor Jim Bob Haggerton

Ningxia Red! Top 4 Reasons why it is THEBOMB.COM!!!

Let’s be honest….life is STRESSFUL.  Even on the best of days with 5 kids and two businesses plus traveling and teaching….it’s stressful.  So we need all the antioxidant support we can get every single day.  Enter Ningxia Red.

Your body is created perfectly (I’m going to pound this into your head) and can heal itself day in and day out, but a bi-product of normal daily function is a thing we call Free Radicals.  (read about them here)  This is why we need antioxidants.  But I’m getting ahead of myself!  I’m going to give you my top 4 reasons why Ningxia is such an amazing addition to your supplement schedule.

Now one disclaimer…the core four needs that everyone has (Fish Oil, Probiotics, Vit D, Greens Product)…Ningxia is not one of those.  BUT it is a close fifth and this is one thing that I think everybody should be able to add in. Kids should be on it. Older patients should be on it. Teens should be on it. Women should be on it. Men should be on it. All of you should be on it because it’s that good and it’s got that many nutrients in it.

#1:  Ningxia is a Macro Nutrient

Ningxia Red is a macronutrient. I want you to understand what this means, okay? So if you go into an office and you ask them to help you with nutrition, there are two different schools of thought as it pertains to nutrition.

  1. Micro Nutrition: In this model, each individual nutrient is taken out of the whole and looked at in a very reductionistic, ultra specific view.  Sometimes it is very beneficial and I’m not saying there are times you need an exact milligram dosing of calcium or potassium but this is just not how the body is created.  An example of micro nutrition would be trying to isolate the exact mineral or nutrient out of an apple that is helpful for XYZ thing instead of just enjoying the dang apple!

  2. Macro Nutrition:  This is the model that we follow and is a totally different view of health and how it works with nutrition.  In the macro model…even though individual nutrients are important, it teaches that the bulk of your nutrition should come from FOOD based sources.  Getting them like you would in your diet (even if they are concentrated) makes it easier to process and you will absorb more of the nutrition in what you are eating.  This model doesn’t get bogged down with each individual nutrient in the apple…they eat the apple!

A great example I like to use when I teach on this is good ‘ol water.  So water is comprised of two units of hydrogen and one of oxygen.  Right?  Remembering your organic chemistry?? 😉  So let’s say for an example that you had a fire in your home.  If we take water as it is created and throw it on the fire, what happens?  The fire goes out.  But if we try and outsmart creation and take it apart and we through straight oxygen on that fire, what happens?? It gets WORSE!  And if we throw hydrogen on that fire we are going to light up the entire block!  So you can see where keeping things in the order they are created in is super important.

#2:  Ningxia Red is a LIQUID

So if every one of you who read this blog did a digestive function test with me…about 95-98% of you would come back with a weak or deficient digestive system.  SURPRISE!!!  But it’s true.  Because of medications, stress, and processed foods (thank you advances in civilization) our digestive system and it’s function is under constant attack.  Because of this, it’s hard for your system to absorb everything you ingest or every nutrient from every supplement you take.

So in a liquid form it’s basically pre-digested. It’s why smoothies and juices are so beneficial.  When you get it in a liquid form you absorb it faster because the body doesn’t have to break it down, and that’s huge.

#3:  Ningxia has TONS of Antioxidants

Very first thing in the blog I talked a second about the fact that our bodies product Free Radicals every single second we are alive.  You can think of Free Radicals as our “exhaust system”.  Is the exhaust that is coming out of the tail pipe on your car every day normal?  Of course it is..  But what would happen if we capped the tail pipe and didn’t let your engine process that exhaust out?? Your car would die right at the light you were sitting at.

Our bodies are much the same way.  If we don’t have a way to clear out those free radicals from our system will age quicker and eventually create symptoms and disease.  So what do we do??

Welllll….remember how I told you that your body was created PERFECTLY??  It was.  So inside every one of your cells you have antioxidant “generators” like Super Oxide Dismutase that work tirelessly every second of every day to wipe out as many free radicals as they can.  Only problem is that with the amount of free radicals we produce in a day..our bodies can’t keep up.  So we need extra antioxidants in our food and supplements to help with the fight.

Every single type of food or nutrient has a specific amount of antioxidants to it (mostly).  The scoring system to this is called the ORAC scale.  So to give you perspective:  Blueberries have an ORAC score of 2,000.  Ningxia red has a ORAC score of over 30,000!!!!  That’s a TON!

#4:  Ningxia contains Essential Oils

Our supplements from Young Living are what we call “Infused” products.  Meaning…every supplement is paired with complementary essential oils in them.  This is so that you get the benefit of pure 100% therapeutic grade essential oils, and because it also increases the absorption rate of the product they are in. WIN WIN!

There are 4 different essential oils in Ningxia.  You have orange essential oil, yuzu, lemon and tangerine.  Look up all of the benefits of those 4 oils.  But basics for all they support:  pH, blood sugar, digestion, and immunity.

Dosing on Ningxia Red is 1-2 oz per day depending on the person.  Kids normally are always recommended at 1/2 the adult dose so take that into account.

Now second thing, on kids that are old enough to be able to do it or old enough to drink it, yeah, so starting with solids and stuff, they’re already getting fruit juices, you’re already giving them that. Give them Ningxia, right? So if you have kids that are a little bit older then you want to normally do like a great rule of thumb is whatever the adult dose is then for kids you do a half of that. So like if the adult dose is two ounces, which it is, then you do either a half an ounce or one ounce a day for most kids.

One question and concern I always get from people who read labels is:

“Why is there Sodium Benzoate, a preservative, in Ningixa?”

And it’s a great question.  The main answer?  Because EVERY company who makes a food based product like this is legally required to put a preservative in it.  There is .01 % of the preservative in the product so the thing is…they’re not required to even tell you about it but they do anyway because #transparency.  So here’s what your real question should be:

“Where do they get the Sodium Benzoate?”

That’s the true question.  Because every single company out there with anything liquid has to have a preservative…where they source it is the difference.  Did you know (because I originally didn’t) that Sodium Benzoate is many times synthetic (no shocker) but ALSO is naturally occurring in many foods like Cranberries and other fruits??

YL naturally sources their SB and does NOT use any synthetic preservatives in their products to ensure that you have the highest quality products on the market.

Couple of cautions with this product:

  1. The Wolfberry is a nightshade.  If you have extreme (read:  the worst) autoimmune issues then sometimes this family of products (same family as tomatoes or bell peppers) can cause extra inflammation so you need to know that.  I have never had an issue with any patient on it, but you need to know.
  2. Diabetics:  If you have blood sugar issues you need to track your sugar well and just pay attention.  You can totally use this product if you insulin isn’t perfect…but because it is a fruit puree you need to regulate it and make sure you stay in range.

Hopefully this was helpful and gave you some points to why it is so powerful.  For specific ingredients go check it out here and do your own research on WHY those ingredients are incredible and I’ll do other posts for you on those as well.  Take care!

How to use Essential Oils

Hello essential oil users, oil curious, and those who have no idea what essential oils are.

Welcome welcome.

What are Essential Oils?

Essential Oils are the most powerful part of the plant.

They are distilled from:

  • Shrubs
  • Flowers
  • Trees
  • Roots
  • Bushes
  • Fruit
  • Resins
  • Herbs

Oils consist of over 100 natural organic compounds.

Oils support every system in the human body:

  • Skeletal System
  • Muscular System
  • Circulatory System
  • Endocrine System
  • Respiratory System
  • Immune System

Hormones, Brain Health, Emotions, Spiritual Support, & Stress.

ONLY Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils are capable of supporting the human body in said ways.

I only use and recommend the best essential oils on the planet… Young Living.

  • Studies have shown that oils reach the heart, liver, and thyroid in 3 seconds when inhaled.
  • Oils were found in the bloodstream in 26 seconds when applied topically.
  • Expulsion of essential oils takes place in 3-6 hours in a normal healthy body.

There are three ways to use essential oils:

Aromatically through using our sense of smell. Our sense of smell is linked directly to the amygdala which is the seat of our emotions. This is why smells have such power over us. Have you ever been taking back to a childhood memory by a certain smell? This can be done by

smelling the oil directly from the bottle

putting a few drops in your hand, rubbing hands together, then cupping over the nose

through diffusing the oils

Ingestion or “internally”

oils can be taken in a vegetable capsule

added to recipes when cooking

and added to water (for flavor and a plethora of other benefits).

Topically

You may or may not choose to use a carrier oil when applying oils topically. I rarely ever do. Not using a carrier oil is called using oils “neat”. A carrier oil is a fatty oil like avocado oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, almond oil and the like. The only time I really use carrier oils is when I create a roller blend. If you are new to using oils or have sensitive skin then I suggest you use a carrier oil. (I personally never used carriers even when I first started using oils)

Again, I only recommend use of Young Living’s essential oils because they are the absolute best. We own our own farms and have strict Seed to Seal guidelines for our partner farms, we run the most tests on our products, D. Gary Young (the founder of YL) is the only one in the world who distills oils at their best/highest frequency, we use sustainable and organic farming methods, and we never use chemicals to distill our oils we cold press and steam distill (which takes more time and obviously costs more money).

The FDA only requires that companies have 5% of the actual oil in their product in order for it to be labeled 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade. The rest can be chemicals, floral water, or carrier oils. This on top of the use of fertilizers, pesticides, and chemical solvents to extract the oil makes for a chemical soup of “essential oil” which in my opinion is extremely contradicting considering what oils are used for.

THAT IS WHY SEED TO SEAL. This is why it is so important to buy real oils. You never want to cut corners when at comes to wellness. You deserve the best.

My hope is that you have learned something new today or received some clarity.

Take care, you deserve it.

DIY Essential Oil Infused Face Wash

Finding a safe face wash can be challenging and expensive.

Learn how to create your own toxin free essential oil infused facial cleanser.

It’s not enough to remove your make up. You should also be cleansing your skin. Guilty. I don’t always use a facial cleanser after removing my make up. Most nights I feel accomplished if the dishes are done, my make up is removed and my teeth are brushed.

This foaming face wash is simple to make and convenient to use.

Here is what you’ll need:

A foaming hand soap dispenser that holds at least 8oz of liquid. (I reuse my Thieves Foaming Hand Soap dispensers)

3 oz Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Liquid Soap – Baby Unscented, 32oz.

30 Drops of the skin supporting Essential Oils of your choice – I only recommend the use of Young Living’s Essential Oils. Order your Young Living Oils HERE. I like to use Lavender and Frankincense.

1/3 cup of Distilled Water

1/2 Tsp of Witch Hazel

Combine all ingredients in soap dispenser, fasten lid, and shake.

Use 1-2 pumps per wash!

Let me know what your thoughts are.

Measuring spoons

2oz Amber Glass Spray bottle

Pour your conditioner into the bottle

I like to give the recipe and instructions prior to me writing my own experiences or purposes. Something that bothers me to no end is looking up a recipe only to find an essay before I’m able to get the recipe.

So I’ll spare you.

This recipe is great for people with hair. It keeps your hair moisturized and smelling great without having to worry about synthetic fragrances or other nasty chemicals found in conventional products. Oh yeah, it’s also Essential Oil infused. These aren’t just any oils, they are true therapeutic grade. Young Living’s founder D. Gary Young actually coined that term “100% pure therapeutic grade”.
